In the run up to the Bill being voted in spring 2008, hundreds of events will be taking place the length and breadth of the country where you can do your bit to stop climate chaos.
Below are just a few of the events coming up in the next week...
Christian Aid supporters will be getting down on bended knee with a giant diamond ring to demand that their local MP commits to a strong Climate Bill.
UK student group, People & Planet, will be building a twin towered 12ft coal power station on Parliament Square with masked Gordon Browns ‘burning’ a mock Climate Bill on Fossil Fools Day (1 April), which will be followed by a mass lobby of MPs.
Campaign Against Climate Change will also be converging on Parliament Square on 5 April and will be demanding that aviation and shipping are included in the Climate Bill.
Word Development Movement and Friends of the Earth local groups will collaborate on 5 April with effigies of Gordon Brown playing with a giant inflatable aeroplane branded with ‘climate change kills’ in the London and Brighton area.
Piling the pressure on MPs to publicly pledge their support for a Climate Bill with bite is what the 'Week of Action' is all about.
Events can involve any number of people, groups or organisations - and can range from a handful of passionate people lobbying their MP right up to mass public meetings - and from this page you can find out what's going on right on your doorstep.
From here you can also upload details of an event you are staging and we'll flag it up on the all-new events page on the I Count map.
Whatever you do is up to you, but we’re here to let everyone know what you’re up to, where you’re doing it and how likeminded irresistible people can get in touch and get involved.
