The Climate Change Bill will be going through its final parliamentary stages over the next few months.
Currently over 250 MPs think that the Bill should feature:
1) an emissions target of at least 80% by 2050 (not the current 60%)
2) the inclusion of emissions from the UK's contribution to international shipping and aviation.
An in-house parliamentary petition (otherwise known as an early day motion or EDM) is calling for the above two changes to be made to the Bill. So far 257 MPs have signed up to EDM 736.
If your MP has signed we've prepared an email for you to send, congratulating him or her and asking for their assurance that they'll back the changes when the Bill is voted for this summer.
If your MP hasn't signed we've prepared an email encouraging him or her to sign the EDM and support these changes as they are voted on in Parliament.
